Social workers can be prepared to assist clients more efficiently and more comprehensively by becoming knowledgeable about information technology and electronic advances.  Trends suggest a new category of human distress—electronic or technology abuse or dependence.  Tele-Practice Guidelines are emerging for best practices and risk management.  An understanding of how the behavioral, cultural, financial, and legal dynamics of technology impact on our clients is needed.  The purpose of this workshop is to provide introductory knowledge and overview of the benefits and impact of technology on clients, the profession, and ourselves.
